Use a different type
To make ginger tea, instead of using fresh ginger, steep any type of tea in boiling water before adding the whiskey, lemon juice, and honey.
Use a variety of garnishes
You can add interest to your garnishes by twisting lemon or orange peel or rimming a lemon wheel with cloves. Add fresh cranberries, thinly sliced fruit (apples, pears, or persimmons), a sprig of rosemary, or a vertically sliced piece of fresh ginger for a festive garnish (as shown above).
